IGTM : Premier meeting for golf & travel
For the golf tourism sector,
IGTM (International Golf Travel Market) is the premier meeting place and business forum.
It brings together specialist golf tour operators, incentive travel agents, meetings and
conference organisers with leading hotels, resorts, golf courses, airlines and other
suppliers of golf related products. Now in its fifth year, IGTM is the annual focus for
the whole of the golf travel industry.
After Orlando (Ca) and Sun City, IGTM 2002 will take place in Biarritz (France) from 7th
to 12th December.
Destination Biarritz
In 1888, Europe's second oldest golf course was opened in
Biarritz. Today, it is one of many courses spread across the region. Biarritz is a meeting
point for all European golf players as exceptional courses and weather conditions which
allow outdoor activities all year round.
With "Golf du Phare", one of the oldest golf courses in Europe, Biarritz can
offer legendary golfing providing the impetus for many other famous courses in the area.
Today, there are ten other courses within a 15 miles radius of Biarritz. Golf players can
increase the level of their performance as they go from one golf course to another.
Marked by all the cultural richness and authenticity of the Basque country, Biarritz
offers all its temporary guests a royal welcome and it will unfurl all its attractions for

Building on these assets, Biarritz has been developing business travel for several years.
The resort has three congress centres: the Bellevue, Municipal Casino and the Gare du
Midi.
