Radisson opens its first resort

Bük, October 2003 - Radisson SAS will open its first resort in Hungary early 2004. The 209-room Radisson SAS Birdland Resort & Spa is being built on the current driving range of the Birdland Golf & Country Club, offering beautiful views over the fairways and surrounding countryside. The golf course will be extended by further a 9-hole course, an additional lit 18-hole putting course and a Golf & Tennis Academy by 2004.

The resort¹s 3500 square metres wellness spa will offer modern wellness programmes, beauty treatments as well as social exercise. The spa is equipped with five indoor pools including 20-metre pool, 2 thermal baths, an experience pool and a children¹s pool; and one outdoor. Further facilities include steam baths, saunas, frigidarium, tepidarium, solariums, wellness and beauty treatment rooms, aerobic room, fitness room, tennis courts (as of 2004), and jogging tracks.

To compliment the wellness spa, the resort also offers wellness menus in the main restaurant and freshly pressed fruit and vegetable-based juices in its wellness bar. The main restaurant with international kitchen has also an Euro-Asia fusion corner. In addition, Mediterranean style restaurant offers gourmet Italian food and wines. The resort has also other 3 bars in the lobby, club house and in the pool area. The conference facilities cover an area of 290 square metres and include a main conference room and four boardrooms.

It is good two-hour drive from Budapest. and only 90 minutes drive from Vienna and Bratislava. With approximately 3000 inhabitants, the settlement Bük has emerged as an active spa resort and has become the home of the Birdland Golf & Country Club, featuring an 18-hole, 72-par championship golf course.
