GTWA (Golf Travel Writers Association)

How golf can be used to find out someone's age!

GTWA President, Dan Poppers, sent us the only example of "Golf Maths" that we have ever seen. Unscrupulous members could use it to find out the age of fellow colleagues! Grab a calculator and try it yourself - but it will only work this year...

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to play golf (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be bold)...
3. Add 5. (for Sunday)...
4. Multiply it by 50
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1755 If you haven't, add 1754
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born

You should now have a three digit number.

A: The first digit should be the number of times you wanted to play golf per week
B: And the next two numbers are your age! Sad but true
