1899 : Year George Franklin Grant, an African-American dentist and Harvard dental school faculty member, received U.S. Patent 638,920 for inventing the first wooden tee.

700 : Calories a person weighing 150 lbs. will burn off by walking 18-holes.

Due to crowd control issues, Canoe Brook officials closed the gates to the public midday. [Afterthought: Michelle shot one-over (143), failing to qualify by five shots.).
