Documents. Valid passport. Nationals of USA, Canada, Western European countries, Australia and New Zealand do not need visas to visit Argentina. Upon arrival non-visa visitors obtain a free tourist card, good for 90 days and renewable for 90 more. No vaccination certificate required.
How to get there. All airlines flying to Argentina arrive mainly at Ezeiza International Airport ("Ministro Pistarini"), which is 37 Km away from the City of Buenos Aires . Leaving the country, a US$ 18 tax must be paid.
and around the country: Inside the country, five major Argentine airlines attempt to make this big country appear smaller. The domestic airport called John Newberry is located along the Rio de la Plata in the centre of the city.

Driving in Argentina is easy . out off Buenos Aires where traffic can be heavy and taxis feel all like Fangio.
When to go : Southern hemisphere seasons are the opposite to those in the northern hemisphere. Summer (Dec to March) is the best time to visit Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego because of the mild temperatures and long days. Autumn and spring are marvellous in Buenos Aires .
Events : May 25 (commemoration of the May Revolution in 1810 ), July 9 (Independence Day by the "Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata" in 1816) .
Currency : The official Argentine currency is the Peso. There are bills of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 pesos, and coins of 1 peso and 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 cents. Credit cards accepted everywhere.
Tips : usually 10% of the check in cafes and restaurants.
Language : official language is Spanish (even for foreign TV channels!§)
