Informations

The new "Riverside Oaks Golf Course"
is located north of Sydney at about one hour and a half from
the center; there kangaroos won't stop grazing between the
fairways, except if you come to near
Anyway, be careful,
they seem more gentle than sometimes they realy are.
Some kilometers
from there, at "Cypress ",
the golf course is slaloming between the vineyards of the
famous Hunter Valley, renowned for his very good wines. It
is recommended to visit the wine cellars after and not before
playing golf
The
Brisbane coasts
Farther from
Sydney, the Pacific coast extends to the north over three
thousand kilometers and his coral reef is well known for being
one of the most attracting in the world. It is the paradise
for divers and surfers but also for golfers.

Just
before the beginning of the coral barrier, Brisbane, the capital
of the Queensland, is a mixture between Cannes and Miami and
is known for its moderate climate and comfort of life. In
the past decade, resorts have arose all along this Australian
Florida trying to be one more attractive than the other. Some
of them are completely private but companies like Hyatt Resorts
and Hotels have created places where to enjoy sea and golf.
We recommend two of them: the "Sanctuary
Cove" on the Gold Coast, south of Brisbane,
and "Coolum" on the Sunshine
Coast which is north of Brisbane. Both are an example of environmentally
integrated resorts where hotels, bungalows and villages respect
the local natural specificities. Their golf courses, mainly
designed by the Trent Jones team, are in perfect shape and
the Pines Course is considered among players like John Daly
or Laura Davies for being the most interesting in Australia.
For those who
have more time to spend in the country, they can choice or
to go north to someplace nearby Cairns like the "Mirage
Country Club" (beware of crocodiles in
the pools) or south to Melbourne, the city of the four seasons
in a day, to play the very famous "Royal
Melbourne Golf Course" where the most difficulty
is not on the course, but on the way to get an opportunity
to play
Anyway, complete
lists of the golf couses are available in the Tourism or Golf
Federation offices in the main cities in Australia or in the
local Embassies.
