a_ico_fleche.gif (102 octets) WHERE TO STAY

At Sanctuary Cove.

The place is a real natural sanctuary for migrating birds and the Hyatt Regency resort and its two courses has been settled respectfully to very strict environmental guidelines. Moreover the manager declares that it is the first resort in Australia which has been built on such environmental principles becoming a model of integrated planification.

The hotel design in neo colonial architecture as a traditional Queensland homestead reminds the former times of Australian hospitality. All the buildings are scattered amidst lush tropical gardens under high trees around the lagoon with a large sea water pool. Paths are slaloming between the trees to avoid nature damage. It is a five-star, 247 room resort.

At Coolum.

Located on the Sunshine Coast at a few minutes from Noosa Head, the local Saint-Tropez, Mount Coolum gives to the country a similarity to Mauritius Island. The Hyatt resort is precisely settled between the Mount and the beach where surfers play in the long white foamy waves.

In the resort, 2000 customers can take place individually in hotel rooms or by families in cottage apartments under tropical colored flower trees. The central village offers restaurants, shops, congress center, a spa center with thalassotherapia and 7 pools.

- Good food

The food is like the country: multicultural from international European cuisine to Asian or American. Australian are becoming real gourmets and the best media like the Morning Herald or the Australian Broadcasting Company publishes every year good food guides very critical and trustful.

We recommand “La Grange” at Sanctuary Cove and “Petrie’s” at Coolum for their chef’s cuisine served in sophisticated atmosphere but in both resorts there are many places where to buy what you care for.

And don’t hesitate to enter “Noodles” shops where Asian cookers prepare exotic dishes perfumed, and spicy at your taste.

A local special are the barbecued “Moreton Bay bugs”, little squill fish, served at George’s Paragon at Sanctuary Cove, and at Coolum there is a Wine Cellar with a large choice of Australian wines which quality is improving year after year.
