CHINA

300 golf courses

before Olympics Games ?

First in population with over 1.3 billion inhabitants, China is fourth in surface behind Russia , Canada and USA ( it has an area of 9.6 million sq km or one-fifteenth of the world's landmass) . Chinese economy is on the way to become in the coming years third and maybe second in competition with Japan .

In golf, China is emerging at the fifth rank in the world and second in Asia for the number of its courses, more than 300 at the opening of the Olympic Games in 2008. Twenty years ago, there were only eight courses in the country, the most famous being the Beijing International Golf Club which runs alongside Ming's Tomb (Shisanling) Reservoir. It can be seen on the way from the centre of the city to the Great Wall.

China has also the second world's highest golf course : the Jade Dragon Snow Moutain Golf Club at 10.000 ft in the Yunnan Province (the "La Paz Golf Club" is located at 10.800 ft in Bolivia ).

And stretching across Shenzhen and Dongguan, Mission Hills is the world's No.1 golf club with more than ten courses designed by the best world-renowned golf players. It is an international golf community that combines golfing with relaxation, business and lifestyle.
