On the road to Arlon (Belgium), this golf is very special. He has been created in 1989 by René Jacquemin, the chef who makes the well known reputation of one of the best table in Luxembourg, the famous Relais et Chateaux de la Gaichel which is near to the golf and where to stay. Convinced that golf is a pleasure like gastronomy, René Jacquemin had created a few compact holes. In 1992, the compact has expanded becoming a 9-hole that takes some liberty (no toll) with the border between Luxembourg and Belgium (which is also called Luxembourg Province!). The place did not lose his family charm, René's children having opened a restaurant, the "petite Gaichel", in the club house where to get local cuisine between two 9-hole. And René's grandson Olivier, now handicap 4, can teach beginners staying at the hoteL. The local hostelry community to stimulate sport practice and tourism in the country has boosted the construction of this course. That's maybe the reason why SAR the Grand Duc came in person to inaugurate the course that has another peculiarity : it is quoted at the stock exchange.

Located in the Luxemburger "small Swiss" is known for his green broken ground around the Mullerthal cascade, one of the most picturesque place in the country. The landowner built the course for the country lovers. It was just a few holes in the beginning but the course is improving year by year to become more and more attractive.

a_ico_fleche.gif (102 octets) Preisch, the three frontier
A championship golf course built in a triangle between three frontiers : France, Germany and Luxembourg and along the old "via romana" going from Paris to Aachen. The owners company is called "Trois Frontières" but Luxemburger golfers have already made an annexation even if the documentation over the club is printed in the three languages. Three is definitely the number of Preisch. There are three nine holes that can be mixed depending on the seasons or the weather. But the normal design of the 18-hole has a length of 6.452 meter that makes it a long course. Part of the holes are slaloming under timber forest trees, going up and down, turning around pounds, coming out on meadows along lakes… Greens, in very good shape, are manicured and speedy. But the signature hole is the 18th: the green is just before the 2.400 m2 club house and is protected by a pool wider than the green… Splash or not? That's the question as well for the golfer at their last shot as for those that have already finished and drink a beer watching the last suspense…
