At
Agadir, tikida means carat golfing
Where to stay
Club
Med and The Kasbah (Coralia – Accor Group) where the
first settlers to built holiday villages of white walls bungalows,
near the beach front, under the shadow of eucalyptus, palm
trees and other flowered bougainvilleas. They are still there
but nowadays Agadir offers more than 20,000 bedroom from bungalow
to five-star.
The Tikida Beach Hotel is one of those new
generation of luxurious accommodation that offer all modern
comfort with a plus: direct open access to the beach and the
nec plus ultra for health and beauty, the thalassotherapia.
Its owner, M Marrache wants it to be a reference as its name
suggests it. Tikida is the Berber name for carob tree, a Mediterranean
oriental desert tree better known in certain countries under
the name of Saint-Jone’s bred because its fruit is very
nutritive and is used to make a substitute to chocolate. But
this small fruit, the karub, was also used in the past as
measure unit for the diamonds known today as the carat (200
mg).
The infrastructures of the Tikida Beach have taken place on
four hectares located on the very edge of the beach. The hotel
has been built in Moorish style architecture : marble floors,
white washed walls, open patios with plants, and offers 233
air-conditioned large rooms (40 m²) with balcony or terrace
facing the Atlantic ocean, the immense swimming pool or the
flowered gardens. The hotel has its private ocean beach with
deck chairs and parasols.
The Agadir thalassotherapy centre offers
the complete range of the seawater care from the thousand
year traditions of the hammam, to the last up dated spa treatments
(aqua fitness, hydrotherapy, algae massage, affusion and jet
showers, lymphatic drainage, etc…) with a staff trained
to French techniques for the complete comfort and health of
everybody. Out of the five different cures, there is also
a special thalasso+golf. Very appreciated by golfers. After
the cure, the Espace Beauté Océane is a hairdressing
and beauty centre.
There are three restaurants: the Zanzibar
is a gourmet restaurant in discret atmosphere serving refined
menu of Western and Eastern flavours. The Chirinquito,
located between the swimming pool and the beach is the place
to have a grilled fish or special seafood just after a dip.
And the Caroubier is a buffet-restaurant
which serves a large range of meals from international to
Morroccan. There are also three bars: the Cascade is located
under the reception overlooking a waterfall and provides live
performance in the evening. The Papagayo
is the night club.
The course Golf du Soleil belongs to the
same owner and the Tikida provides naturally special packages
for golfers.
